The TROOP 49 FOUNDATION, INC. was established first as a organization to be able to receive physical donations such as land or buildings, which would in turn be utilized to support the activities of Boy Scout Troop 49 of Charlotte.  Secondly, the foundation would  provide financial support for the troop though it’s funds.  The foundation would eventually be able to provide grants/scholarships to scouting youth to attend and participate in various scouting activities, such as summer camps, high adventure programs, or training/educational activities. Additionally, the foundation would support scouts with their Eagle Service Projects by providing a pathway for funding.

Additionally the TROOP 49 FOUNDATION, INC., long term, would like to be able to support other youth oriented programs that encourage positive character development.  These may include but would not be limited to: Church Youth programs, Educational Institutions like UNC-Charlotte, and other Civic organizations that meet the aims of the foundation.

The TROOP 49 FOUNDATION, INC. is available throughout the year to be utilized to provide whatever support or aid it can to the organizations it supports and may be contacted through it’s website or via one of the members of the board.

The TROOP 49 FOUNDATION, INC. sources of income derive from personal resources, public and private donations, grants, and fundraising.  The foundation disposes it income through the decisions made by it board of directors or through the decision of the duly elected treasurer whose power is to pay expenses is set by the Corporation bylaws in accordance to the corporation’s purpose.

The TROOP 49 FOUNDATION, INC. is governed by a Board of Directors as set up in the By Laws of the Foundation.
